Вчера покаталась по Los Altos, а сегодня как-то неважнецки себя чувствую. Кашель сильный и голова трещит по швам. Лежу в кроватки и думаю, ведь че-то надо бы полезным заняться, а то ж ведь совсем захирею. Решила повспоминать чего-нибудь веселенькое.
В прошлом году, посчастливилось мне попасть на университетскую студенческую Рождественскую тусовку. Попала совершенно случайно. Приехала сына навестить, а у него гульба коромыслом. Стесняться по такому поводу не в моих правилах, поэтому ребятам не пришлось меня долго уговаривать и я присоединилась на часик-другой к шумному веселью. Погуляли мы классно, даже уходить не хотелось. Но время было позднее – пришлось домой уезжать.
Так вот, еду я себе, еду – никого не трогая. Вдруг, меня останавливает полицейская машина, но как-то не с той стороны она ко мне под’ехала. Ну, думаю, ладно – всяко в жизни бывает. Подходит ко мне такой молодой, такой красивый мужчина – если бы не его форма, сразу влюбилась бы. Попросил он показать ему мои документы. У меня всегда документы с собой – показала ему свои водительские права. Он все проверил и спрашивает у меня: “Ты знаешь почему я тебя остановил?” Ну, думаю, чего с ерундой привязывается? И отвечаю: “Конечно знаю! Ты меня увидел и я тебе так сильно понравилась, что тебе сразу захотелось со мной познакомиться” . Мужик моментально выпал в осадок от такого нахального ответа, но не растерялся и произнес: “Конечно, ты несомненно права, но была еще одна причина, очень несущественная. Ты не включила фары!”. Ну какую отмазку я могла придумать в свое оправдание?
” О!” Ответила я ему, “а я еду и думаю, ведь мне ж чего-то не хватает. Точно! Света! Спасибо, мужик, что остановил и подсказал. Ну теперь я до дома доберусь в целости и сохранности. До свидания, надеюсь больше с тобой не увижусь.” Он мне и говорит: ” Ты знаешь, мне необходимо тебе сказать еще одну причину, по которой я тебя остановил – ты ехала по встречной полосе!”
И это был финиш. Что можно было ответить?
- Сэр, обратилась я к нему. Ничего удивительного в этом нет. Я, как подданая ее величеству королевы Елизаветы 2, всегда езжу, с моей точки зрения, по правильной стороне и сунула ему под нос свой британский паспорт. Полицейский посмотрел на меня с улыбкой и пригласил в ближайший ” Старбакс” на стаканчик кофейку.
